Australian Stockman’s Hall Of Fame Outback Horse & Heritage Expo
Held at The Australian Stockman’s Hall Of Fame in Longreach, this 4 day event celebrates Australia’s rural heritage and recognises the contribution of the horse to our nation’s history.
The featured events that include Campdrafting, Bronco Branding, APRA Rodeo, Gymkhana and Team Penning will showcase Australian horse sports of the modern era in an action packed program for your enjoyment.
The Campdraft will feature a total prize pool of $120, 000.
Non-stop events across 3 arenas starting at 7 am Thursday and right through till Sunday afternoon rounded out with trade displays, demonstrations and entertainment promises to make the Outback Horse & Heritage Expo a great weekend.
On Friday the APRA Rodeo will feature a full day and evening under lights of professional non-stop action with Barrel Race, Bull Ride, Saddle Bronc and Bareback events following on from the heats and finals of Thursday.
On Saturday a full day of Bronco Branding and Team Penning events will be supported by live entertainment throughout the day and live music in the evening.
Sunday sees the Gymkhana Sports Day featuring Barrel Race, Flag Race, Bending, Figure 8, Musical Chairs, Walk, Trot, Lead and Sack Race – all welcome.
Make sure you leave time on the weekend to take in the exhibits, displays and stories behind some of Australia’s greatest and bravest explorers, stock workers, pastoralists, and Aborigines at the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame and Outback Heritage Centre, celebrated artworks at the Hugh Sawrey Art Gallery and some genuine outback hospitality at
Sacramento Mile Cancelled
The Sacramento Mile, scheduled for July 26 at the Cal Expo in Sacramento, California, has been cancelled.
The news comes this afternoon via a press release from event promoter Bob Bellino.
"This is a very unfortunate turn of events," said Bob Bellino. "We're sorry that we won't be able to host the AMA Pro Flat Track races at the Cal Expo venue this year. There were unexpected complications with the horse racing industry regarding track conditions that have led to the improbable cancelation of the event. It is very disheartening to me that we won't run the Sacramento Mile in 2014
