The elementary, special focus groups and Boy and Girl Scout programs have been designed to allow students to learn about the wonderful world of horses and our western heritage. Through a collaboration of classroom teaching times, a large arena fireworks display of several breeds and riding skills, touring through the Expo to see various horse tack and western fashions and fun hands-on activities, the students are able to grasp a better feel for our western heritage as it was years ago and as it stands today.

A bandana and a goodie bag with fun horsey items Sign up now to join us for the 2015 Expo! The Michigan Horse Expo will host an Elementary School Field Trip program on the morning of Friday, March 13th. This is the 6th year that children from scheduled elementary schools (grades 2-4) will be brought to the Expo early to participate in special programs designed to introduce these youngsters to the “Wonderful World of Horses”! Prior to the Expo, a program will be presented at each participating school. This is an educational program about horses, our western heritage, and what the youngsters will see and do during their trip to the Michigan Horse Expo.
The morning’s program begins at 9:45 a.m. in the Round Pen where students will receive a brief introduction. The excitement for the kids builds as they are brought to the Main Arena for a special program illustrating the horse as an athlete. During this program there will be educational demonstrations presented by the MSU Rodeo Club, the Great Lakes Region Pony Clubs, the Heritage Hill Farms Belgian Hitch, Dan Steers from Double Dan Horsemanship, Gentle Hoofbeats Paso Fino Drill Team, Zelda the Zorse, and more! The youngsters will then have a chance to tour the Expo in smaller groups, visiting with horses, the Youth Area, horse trailers, and much more, as well as the opportunity to visit with Zelda the Zorse! There also will be short educational programs in both the Seminar Room and the Round Pen area, including a western heritage program with a real Chuck Wagon!
Special Focus Groups:
Those participating in the Special Focus Group Field Trip program will meet in a designated class room at 1:30 p.m. for a short opening presentation. This will be followed by a Hands-on Tour of the Expo, including special programs in the Youth Area, visiting Zelda the Zorse, as well as many more horses and activities. After the tour, the groups will return to the classroom for a short closing.
Which brand are you looking at?
Was around half off the prices of the Interstyle glass tiles. Call around if you know the brand. Walker Zanger has a warehouse in Hayward (see their website) and gave me the 20% contractor's discount. They are expensive, but their tile is beautiful. Home Expo sucks, like home despot...great place to look though.
Check out McPhails
They have a good website, knowledgable staff and have really decent delivery prices. After looking around quite a bit, I bought from them. I don't know if they install or what their prices are for that, though. HOme Expo has REALLY expensive deliver prices and their staff is not that great. They also have a great selection on the showroom floor (this was in Concord). They have other locations, too, though.
Style-challenged bathroom tile help?
Our bathroom is on it's way back from being gutted, and i need to pick out tile for the floor and shower. however i have no sense of style to speak of and my usual hangouts (home depot, lowes and HD expo) are not helping much...
i am hoping to find a place with different tile ideas/displays to help me out, since i can't come up with anything decent on my own! do specific stores do this? i found a website or two, but with only a few pictures.
